At first I was so excited that I stubled on to your site, I spent hours looking longingly at all of your delish pictures, then an overwhelming feeling of saddness came over me when I realised none of this is or can be mine :((
First of all, thank you for calling my pictures “delish”:D It was adorable ^_^
I totally understand how you felt and I’m pretty sure many readers do to. But these images should not work as models of what you should have - certainly someone owns the houses (unless it is a magazine production) - but as sources of inspiration and solutions you could create for yourself, even if just small ones. That’s why I try not to post too many images of high end houses/designs, I don’t identify myself with spaces that just look expensive and that most people can’t afford.
It can be overwhelming if you see all that exists that you could have or want, but the point is how far your imagination and inspiration can go when you know what’s out there.
Look, I have a “houses” folder with houses I pick from real estate agencies and I can’t afford any of those but I still love it because I imagine how it would be like to live there, the furniture I would buy, and the walls I would hammer ^_^. I even use google maps to see what exists around the address to make it more realistic, like where are the supermarkets, the shops, if there’s a yoga center near, tube stations… I may have a problem ahem ahem, but in the end it is exciting to dream about the possibilities:D
What I would like you to understand it that you should create your own place the best you can with what you can afford and/or dream big because it’s free and no one should feel guilty for liking pretty things:)
Could you recommend any designers similar to Abigail Ahern?
I don’t but if you go to a big showroom like the London design center in Chelsea Harbour they’ll help you find a professional that fits your taste and budget. If they can’t, they’ll get you in contact with someone who can. If you are from california, the Pacific Design center in LA can pretty much do the same thing. Good luck*
If you were an object as part of a room (piece of furniture, decor, etc.) what would you be and why?
I would be a blanket. But I think more in terms of what I needed to have and not what I would be, because that’s a bit weird ^_^ I love blankets, I appreciate comfort and even in the summer I need something to cover me (and can you imagine a nap without a blanket?) I even have a black one I bring to cinema because sometimes the theaters have the air conditioner too cold:D So yeah, a blanket would totally be me:)
Actually I don’t really follow many of those. I did but then some were more about the people behind them when I just wanted images. I tend to follow tumblrs totally not interior design related. But if you use tumblr’s search I guess you’ll find many options.
